Spike Lee’s Gotta Have it : Inside Guerilla Filmmaking [Inscribed and signed by Spike Lee to british producer Davis Puttnam (then Columbia CEO / Chairman of Columbia Pictures) who was instrumental in green-lighting Spike Lee’s ‘first major studio film’ (see Patrick Goldstein’s article in the LA Times in Feb.,1988) “School Daze”. The inscription reads: “To David Puttnam / Thanks for Everything / I appreciate it / Fuck Columbia !!! / love, Spike Lee” and is reflective of Spike Lee’s and David Puttnam’s experiences at Columbia (according to the Patrick Goldstein – article, Lee later complained that he constantly faught with Columbia, accusing them of trrying to ‘ghettoize’ his film.

Collection of two (2) large boxes with rare and sometimes inscribed, Printed Materials and very rare Geological Surveys with Maps (for example it includes the very rare Geological Survey of Iran) from the private Reference- library of Geologist Prof. David (Dave) Naylor regarding Kuwait, Iraq (near Basrah), Lebanon, Jordan (Halat Ammar and Al Mudawwara), Jordan in general, Arava Valley (Dead Sea). These materials are all publications, sometimes official government papers or maps or academic publications from fellow geologists as well as for example official publications of talks given for OAPEC. The titlepage of the Botanologicon bears the manuscript ownership-entry of Nuremberg’s Astronomer, Philosopher and Mathematician Hieronymus Schreiber [also called Jerôme Schreiber], student-friend of Euricius Cordus’ son Valerius Cordus in Wittenberg and later trustee of Valerius Cordus’ scholarly estate after Valerius Cordus’ premature death in Rome. Dated in the same hand on the titlepage also the entry ‘Anno 1539’, when Valerius Cordus matriculated at Wittenberg and Schreiber already had studied there since May 1532. With several contemporary manuscript annotations throughout both titles (the Botanologicon and Examen) / II. A. M. Interior in excellent condition with some minor staining to very few pages only.
