Beautiful copy of Melvin van Peebles first book, published when he was 25, about his experience as a cable car condutcor in San Francisco. Ruth Bernhard is a revered artist best known for her still-life photography and images of naked female torsos. Ansel Adams once called her “the greatest photographer of the nude”. “The Big Heart” represents a complete departure from her usual work.
A very uncommon book, and a great piece of Nostalgia – linked to one of the most famous independent film makers ever and one of the most admired female photographers.
