Besides a minor discoloration to the frontboard, in very good condition of one of the most important anatomical compendiums of the 17th and 18th century, effectively replacing Bartholinus. with only minor signs of external wear. Three signs of previous owners through the centuries (Bookplate of H C Lohmann / Manuscript entry by Joh. Caspar Metzger on the titlepage and manuscript ownership-entry from the 18th century by one Christopher Harden to pastedown.

Several defects to some pages with small text-lesions and tears. From the library of Johannes Rust, Trinity College Cambridge. His small bookplate pasted to the dedication page. Contemporary entries in ink on the pastedown and endpaper.

Extremely rare with Volume IX, the nearly always missing Supplement Volume. Provanance: Volume I (Dublin Edition) from the library of John Morrison / Volumes 2 – 9 from the library of Chris Rogers. Both names written in contemporary ink to titlepages.

Written in the Year 1709 and addressed to the Right Honourable John Lord Roos, the present Marquis of Granby by Henry Felton, D.D. Rector of Whitwell in Derbyshire.
