Unusually excellent condition with only very minor signs of external wear. Frontispiece and last page of the work with minor crease. Two corners torn (two pages following the title), corner of page 185 torn and page 92 of the second part of the book with longer lesion within text (no loss of text). Endpapers and pastedown with some minor spotting. All these descriptions of faults sound worse than they are. Interior text, plates and portraits overall in unbelievably clean and excellent condition. Name of pre-owner in ink on title and verso frontispiece (″J.Stilwell”).

Original, Irish Butterfly – Specimen – Collection of entomologist and naturalist, Norman Hickin. 70 boxes with Butterfly – Specimen from the irish countryside in Dromreagh (Durrus, West Cork, Ireland), Ballycommane, Glengarriff, and wider surroundings. Many boxes labelled. The collection was established in the outgoing 1970s and early 1980s and gives an excellent view into the specimens still common at that time in Ireland and its unspoiled, non-industrial countryside. Norman Hickin subsequently published a Field Guide on Butterflies in Ireland (1992), clearly based on the specimens collected here.

In collector’s Mylar. The text and plates throughout with faded dampstain ! Otherwise in very good condition with only minor signs of external wear. This very rare volume on the History of Dentistry is very rare and still very much in collectable condition. This used to be the copy of the Association of German Dentist “Reichsverband Deutscher Dentisten” and the book has one large stamp to the pastedown and a small stamp to the lower margin of the dutch titlepage. One more decent stamp to outer margin of page 31.

Interessante Sammlung von originalen Briefen des Österreichischen Autors Karl Rössing and den künstlerischer Leiter der Bauerschen Gießerei, Dr. Konrad Bauer. Die detaillierten Briefe geben Aufschluss zur Entstehungsgeschichte der Publikation “Bilder zur Odyssee”, welche im Jahr 1955 in Frankfurt herausgegeben wurde. Karl Rössing spricht mit Bauer zum Thema Korrekturen im Satz, Einbanddecken, Mäander, Papierauswahl, Tondruck, Einbandgestaltung, Autorenexemplaren, Ausstellung in Braunschweig, Rezensionsverweigerung von Benno Reiffenberg, Verwendung des Buchs als Geschenk an den Bundespraesidenten (damals Theodor Heuss), “ganz einfach deshalb weil er ein fuer Kunstdinge aufgeschlossener Mensch ist”, etc. etc. Der Sammlung liegt eine originale Tuschzeichnung über Bleistift, sowie ein Probedruck des Titelholzstichs bei.
