Interior of Volume II with a tear and loss of paper to the front free endpaper, some mild foxing, one plate and one textpage (page 11) slightly detached and with fraying). Minor wormholedamage to rear board (neglectable). Overall these two Volumes are in very good condition !

Private gift-inscription and letter included: Inscribed “To Elsie with best wishes from E.Miller”. An original, signed letter by Aunt Miller to Elsie is loosely inserted. All the wonderful colour-plates by Brian Hatton are in place and in excellent condition. An extremely scarce book.

Very good condition of this extremely rare edition (no.129 of 250 copies only) with only very minor signs of external wear / some rubbing to the binding and bumping to the corners. Some corners very slightly fingerstained and with a hint of a faded dampstain. Name of former owner on endpaper: “Martin F. Jackson – 501 – 5 ave. New York City”.
