Rudimentary Titlepage of Volume II bound in (pasted in part on a empty page of contemporary paper of the 16th century). Hardcover / 17th century boards with 5 raised bands. The binding in very poor condition but still holding. The titlepage missing. Name of preowner on third page of Tabula. First seven leaves with some fraying. Titlepage of second Volume is an improvised titlepage with only the centre-piece of the original woodcut – titlepage mounted on a blank page. The bookblock overall in very good condition. Some very interesting, contemporary 16th or 17th century annotations to the outer margins of some pages. Perfect candidate for a nice rebinding project. One of the most important legal compendium of the 16th and 17th century. An extremely rare book !
