The remaining 13 postcards were all written after Sir Basil Liddel Hart’s death and for example deal with the sale of the estate: John Cooper telling me that the N.P.G. paid 9500 Sterling for the picture. He wants more information on Hein and Basil. Wonder how much our Kennington’s are worth ? /

Both Volumes with some rubbing but both in firm, original condition. Interior of Volume I with some mild foxing and fingerstaining only but all plates excellent. Interior of Volume II with a tear and loss of paper to the front free endpaper, some mild foxing, one plate and one textpage (page 11) slightly detached and with fraying). Minor wormholedamage to rear board (neglectable). Overall these two Volumes are in very good condition !

Original Hardcover with gilt decoration on spine and cover. Recently professionally repaired and restored binding with new endpapers and the saved original bookplate / exlibris of J. Henry H.V. Lane of Kings Bromley in Staffordshire to the pastedown. Gilted edge. Rubbed and sign of wear on cover and spine. Overall very good condition with firm binding and clean interior. Bookplate / Exlibris to pastedown. Inscribed on Augst 10,1879 by previous owner and embossed stamp marks by bookshop W.H.Smyth in London on endpaper.

Graham Carritt on the occasion of his admission to the Livery of the Company in June 1927. With a bookplate of Grocer’s Hall to the front pastedown.
