Inscribed to Frederic Zelnik by one of his silent cinema actresses, Emma Morel, during the filing of “Vadertje Langbeen”, based on a Novel from Jean Webster and adapted fror the screen by Rudolph Bernauer, the film was made by Zelnik and filmed in Amsterdam. Emma Mourel was one of the stars of the Movie and inscribed the book to Zelnik: “Van ouren voorbeeldigen Regisseur den Heer Friedrich Zelnik, her herinnering van Amsterdam Augustus 1938. Voor alle….Gross-aufnahmen !! Met reeht-hartelycken dank en auf Wiedersehen von Emma Morel”.

Australia with beautiful Vignettes and illustrations of Natives of the Tribe of Bogan, Sydney, Kangaroos, Australian Parrots and Cockatoo, Natives of Australia Felix. The beautiful map shows the whole continent of Australia with Van Diemen’s Island (Tasmania). The map lists all the counties in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, West Australia.

[Second Edition, with an “Account of the Prints” bound to the rear] / III. Pages 185 – 191 of Volume I with some stronger browning. Otherwise the interior very clean. All mezzotints in very good or even better condition. This is the original copy from the historical Castle-Freke Library in West Cork (Ireland), with two armorial bookplates to front and rear pastedown with the family’s motto ‘Pro Patria’. With two pages of manuscript annotations by a contemporary hand with a reference between the common name “Tarbet” in Scotland and a place-name in County Kerry in Ireland” (pages 13 of Volume II) / another entry is on page 12 of Volume II regarding the name-sake “Loch-Loung” for a Lake of ships in Scotland and Ireland.
