A complete translation of ‘Hamamatsu Chunagon Monogatari’, one of the few extant works of monogatari literature of the Heian period. It was probably written in the last half of the eleventh century, less than one hundred years after ‘The Tale of the Genji’ and traditionally attributed to Sugawara no Takasue’s daughter the author of ‘Sarashina Nikki’ (As I Crossed the Bridge of Dreams’).
