“Gardening for Beginners” was first published in 1901 and was part of the popular series “Country Life Library”. According to the preface, the instructions in the book are “so plain and easy that it does not either alarm or discourage the complete novice” but tells “all about gardening in the simple language that all can understand, describing garden methods and practice in detail”.
