Very good condition, with some signs of browning to the outer margins only. Slight creasing to the top right coner of map. Professionally repaired tear to lower centre fold, barely noticeable given the quality of the workmanship. Latin text on reverse.

Original copper engraving. Amsterdam, Kircher, [c.1665]. Plate Size: 40.2 cm x 34.1 cm. Sheet Size: 37 cm x 39.1 cm. Original Map. Very good condition of an increasingly rare map. Very minor traces of browning to outer margins.

3. South America. Kircher, Athanasius. (1602-1680).

Tabula qua Hydrophylacium Andium Exhibetur, quo Universa America Australis Innumeris Fluviis Lacubusque Irrigatur.

Original Engraving. Amsterdam, Kircher, [c.1665]. Plate Size: 20.1 cm x 33.9 cm. Sheet Size: 24.7 cm x 39 cm. Original Map. Very good condition. Very minor instance of foxing to cartouche. Map is orientated to the North. Dutch text on reverse.

4. California – Homann, Johann Baptist / Landteck, Zacharias.

Original hand-coloured engraving, with the Cartographer showing California as an Island. Nürnberg, Homann, [c.1735]. Plate Size: 57 cm x 48.5 cm. Sheet Size: 60.5 cm x 51.7 cm. Original map. Very good, actually stunning, condition. Some faint trace of browning to upper corners of sheet. Very minor tears to edges at centre-fold.

5. Antilles – Homann, Erben. (1702 – 1848).

Dominia Anglorum in præcipuis Insulis Americæ ut sunt Insula S. Christophori Antega Iamaica Barbados, nen non Insulæ Bermudes vel Sommers dictæ. / Die Englische Colonie-Laender Auf den Insuln von America und zwar Insuln S. Christophori Antegoa Jamaica Barbados Smt den Ins. Bermudes sonst Sommers gennant.

Original hand-coloured map. Nuremberg, Homann Heirs, [c.1740]. Plate Size: 55.6 cm x 48.7 cm. Sheet Size: 60 cm x 52 cm. Original map. Very good condition. Trace of foxing along sheet edges. Minor open tear with missing material evident to fore edge. Lower margin running out towards left corner. Centre-fold as issued.

6. Americas – Homann, Johann Baptist. (1664 – 1724).

Americae Mappa generalis.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Nürnberg, Homann, 1746. Plate Size: 53 cm x 46 cm. Sheet Size: 56.3 cm x 50 cm. Original map. Very good+ condition. Expertly restored map with reinforced edges. Faintest traces of the professional repairs barely evident such is the quality of the restoration.

7. Caribbean – Brué, Adrien-Hubert. (1786 – 1832).

Carte Génerale des Îles Antilles d’une Partie Du Mexique, Des États-Unis et de L’Amérique Méridionale.

Original engraving. Paris, Brué, 1821. Plate Size: 50.5 cm x 36.1 cm. Sheet Size: 68 cm x 54.1 cm. Original map. Very good condition. Extra wide margins. Some minor foxing along sheet edges. Discreet author’s blind stamp with ‘Carte Encyprotipe’ and initials ‘AB’ embossed in top corner of map. Centre-fold as issued.

8. America / Canada – Tallis, John / Rapkin, John. (1817 – 1876)

British America (meaning CANADA) – with Vignettes and illustrations of Esquimaux [Sic] (Inuit), Polar Bears, Images of the British Royal Navy vessels Fury and Hecla, Whale Fishing, Seal and a beautiful illustration of Montreal.

Original steel engraving / Vintage map. Drawn and engraved by John Rapkin. Partly hand-coloured. London & New York, J & F. Tallis, 1851. Plate Size: 33 cm x 24.6 cm. Sheet Size: 37.4 cm x 27.4 cm. Some fraying to the upper margins. Otherwise in very good condition with a small inkstain to the Montreal image. Beautifully Mounted !

9. America / Central America / Latin America / Guatemala – Tallis, John / Rapkin, John. (1817 – 1876)

Central America with Guatemala, Honduras, Salvador, Nicaragua, [Mosquito Territory] and Vignettes and illustrations of Belise [Belize, formerly British Honduras], the Volcano of Isalco and The Great Square of the Antigua in Guatemala.
